New mural celebrates the great outdoors

By Bristol24/7  Monday Sep 14, 2020

Two Bristol artists have created a bright new welcome for people arriving into the city.

The 30-foot high mural took Dave Bain and David J McMillan five days to create with 11 litres of paint.

The artists hope that the new piece is a celebration of the area that is in as well as encouraging people to get outside.

Located on Church Road in St George close to the library, the playful mural depicts dog-walking, skateboarding and nearby St George Park’s much-loved ducks.

The mural was commissioned by the owners of the house and supported by a bursary from a-n The Artists Information Company and Arts Council England.

Dave Bain said: “Enriching an area and community is always at the heart of a large-scale project like this. It’s vital to gain feedback and support from the community.”
