Preview: Cheo at the Tobacco Factory
Famous for his bug-eyed bees on his work on walls throughout the city, street artist Cheo will be putting on a pre-Upfest exhibition in Bedminster from July 5-17.
The well loved graffiti artist, who designed a new Mr Men character, Mr Graff, to mark the 45th anniversary of Mr Men and Little Miss, is described by organisers as a “mutant love child of the hip hop and skate scenes”.
He returns to his artistic home of Bedminster with a solo show spanning his full body of work
is needed now More than ever
As one of the Tobacco Factory Cafe Bar’s ongoing rotation of exhibitions, the show will demonstrate the range of Cheo’s work over his 30-year career.
Some of his familiar, mischievous characters will be on show alongside his signature Bee and Mr Graff, who can more than likely be expected to appear at Upfest.
Also look out for a specially designed Cheo cover on the front of July’s Bristol24/7 magazine.
