Registration now open for Upfest 2017

By Esme Barrell  Wednesday Feb 1, 2017

Upfest has come around again! One of Bristol’s most iconic events, and the largest street art and graffiti festival in Europe, has just opened its application process for this year’s festival in July.

The art sales, street art, music stages and graffiti battles attract over 30,000 visitors and around 300 global artists each year, who decorate the streets around Southville with live demonstrations across 35 different venues.

This artwork stays up until the following year and becomes part of Bristol’s globally renowned street art. The scale of the festival and the opportunity to work on 40,000 sqft surfaces make it an unparalleled event for any urban artist and cannot be missed.

Registration is open until 28th February for any street artist, graffiti writer or collective to show their interest. Upfest applications invite artists from all backgrounds and disciplines, from graffiti to fine art, stencils to the abstract – as long as they don’t mind a huge audience!

Around one third of the 300 spaces available at Upfest 2017 will be allocated to Bristol-based artists, a third to  artists living outside Bristol, and a third to international artists in order to encourage great diversity, whilst also promoting the local talent among this city’s urban cultural scene.

Last year 700 creatives, from countries as far-reaching as Canada, Israel and Argentina, applied for the chance to collaborate alongside other globally renowned graffitists, like Inkie, who frequently attend Upfest.

Artists can register their interest at: http://www.upfest.co.uk/page/upfest-2017-registration-is-now-open

Successful applications will be informed by the 31st March.
