The Marie Celestial – Emerging Artists
A group of Bristol artists, led by Ruby SoHo need support to complete their walking spaceship. The Marie Celestial is a human powered ‘ark’ carrying a crew of street artists performing an outdoor, aerial circus and physical theatre show.
The Marie Celestial is being hand-built by Ruby with assistance from a collective of emerging artists. Ruby provides training in metal fabrication, particularly in support of young people learning new skills, who cannot otherwise afford the training and equipment.
Ruby has a portfolio of exciting, mechanical, art installations at major public events. The Marie Celestial is the first design and creation of her own conception. The group want to tour the show to public events throughout 2015. They have prospective bookings in Germany and Spain, but they are keen that it debuts in Bristol and performs a UK wide tour.
