The Snug, Tobacco Factory
Born and raised in Łódź, Poland, Dominika Wenz is something of a polymath, with a background of studying art, occupational therapy and social work.
Alongside her principal hobby of photography, fine art has increasingly become a way for her to express emotion, particularly through the medium of abstraction.
Wenz previously exhibited in Bristol at the 4th Art Meeting of Polish Artists at Centrespace Gallery in 2017. Here, she will be showing her City Shapes series, representing the different forms, colours and light at play throughout the days and seasons in the city.
“The artwork forms a fascinating communication between the artist and the viewer,” she says. “Abstract painting is open to everyone’s interpretation.”

Grain Barge
Claudia Gibbons is a Bristol-based fine artist specialising in drawing and painting. She draws inspiration from “nature, people and city living”, and has spent time working in Europe and Argentina, all of which filters into her vibrant style.
“My work is a reflection of the wonderful multi-cultural environments I’ve lived in,” she says.
This collection to be exhibited at the Grain Barge features patterns, shapes and colours she sees every day, taken into imagined scenes or compositions. Her chosen title Daydreamer pays homage to her experience of neurodivergence, which she now sees as the driving force of her creativity.
Claudia Gibbons: Daydreamer runs at the Grain Barge from January 31-March 5. Follow @claudiagibbons_art on Insta or visit www.claudiagibbons.co.uk to find out more.
