By Lou Trimby  Wednesday May 20, 2015

The Other Art Fair, which comes to the Arnolfini from June 5-7, have announced that the guest artist for the first edition of the event in Bristol will be Tracey Emin.

One of the pre-eminent artists of her generation, Emin works in a range of media including installations, drawing, painting, film and video.

One of her most famous works is My Bed which will be shown at Tate Britain in 2015 for the first time since 1999 when she was nominated for the Turner Prize.

The piece was sold for £2.5million by Charles Saatch who owns or owned a number of her works including Everyone I Have Ever Slept With 1965-1995, also known as The Tent, which was destroyed in the 2004 Momart art fire along with other priceless works of art.

In recent years Emin’s supreme talent for drawing has come to the fore. Her work is reminscent of Schiele’s, where a feral, contorted, pain seeps from the paper or canvas. Emin was appointed Professor of Drawing at the Royal Academy in 2011.
