‘World-first’ immersive sensory exhibition coming to Bristol
A new immersive experience promising a journey through light, space and sound is coming to Bristol this summer.
Beyond Submergence will see audiences immersed in thousands of coloured lights in a digitally-rendered sensory experience.
The spellbinding installation is the work of award-winning art collective Squidsoup, who will bring five of their largest pieces to Propyard from July 1.

The 20,000sq ft. exhibition will take place inside Propyard’s vast industrial spaces and areas, 20 years after the Cheltenham-based group first exhibited their work in Bristol in 2004.
Describing the artwork, Squidsoup said audiences would enter a whole different world.
“Starting with a gentle calmness, the atmosphere moves through melancholia and joy, using increased scale, edge, brightness and volume to reach a final crescendo where visitors are encompassed with sound and light. By entering into the orbit of a piece, they become part of the experience, a part of the work.”
Designed to be seen in groups, from any angle, and from within or the edges, the artworks will be inclusive and immersive, blurring the boundaries between the works and the spaces they inhabit.
Tickets for Beyond Submergence go on sale on May 10 at 9am.
