Amanda Prowse launches ‘Perfect Daughter’
Bristol author, Amanda Prowse, launches her latest book Perfect Daughter, published by Head of Zeus, on July 2 at Waterstones Cribbs Causeway. She will be signing copies of the book at the event.
Her first book, Poppy Day, was published on November 11, 2012, to support the Royal British Legion and she gave all the book’s profits to the Poppy Appeal. After finding herself propelled onto the bestseller lists she was made ITV’s writer in residence and went on to publish numerous short stories.
Her new book, Perfect Daughter, explores what it’s like to be a ‘sandwich mother’ – caring for both their parents and their children and grandchildren. The story is inspired by Amanda’s own mother, who struggled to care for her family when Amanda was younger. This is still a significant issue for women today; according to Carers UK there are over 6.5 million carers in the UK and they predict this figure will rise to 9 million by 2030.
