Bookshop owner Tweets entire Harry Potter to Piers Morgan

By James Higgins  Wednesday Feb 15, 2017

A bookshop owner from Bristol is plaguing Piers Morgan in hilarious style.

Following the former Daily Mirror editor’s Twitter feud with Yate-born JK Rowling, Simon Key (pictured above, right) has begun tweeting the whole of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone to him.

Amongst Morgan’s many acerbic tweets to Rowling, he claimed to have never read her “dreadfully written tosh” – a state of affairs Simon is keen to reverse, 140 characters at a time.

In case the life of Morgan doesn’t interest you, you may have missed he recently received a barrage of curse-laden grief when he supported Donald Trump’s Muslim ban:

After the show, Rowling tweeted her enjoyment at seeing Morgan taken down a peg.

Cue a large twitter-storm between the two mammoth British exports; one with a catalogue of globally popular novels, the other, a ground breaking talent for modern hate figures.

Simon runs the Big Green Bookshop in London, from where he has been tweeting Morgan.

Brought up in Westbury Park and a former pupil at QEH, Simon first started selling books at George’s bookshop on Park Street (now Jamie’s Italian) and later Waterstone’s in the Galleries, before establishing the Big Green Bookshop in Wood Green.

Unsurprisingly, the campaign has not gone down well with Morgan:

“I moved to London back in 1995, but I come back to visit my mum, who still lives in Westbury Park, but probably not as much as she’d like,” Simon says.

“I also have the pleasure of being a judge for the Bristol Short Story Prize so I’m back every year for that.”

“I will always remain close to Bristol because I’m a huge City fan, whether they’re winning or losing, tweeting about them is my occupation.”

Since Simon began tweeting, he has received plenty of well-wishers. “Some people have even brought me chocolates for my troubles,” he reveals.
