Launch of the Ship by Antonia Honeywell

By Joanna Papageorgiou  Wednesday Feb 18, 2015

Antonia Honeywell’s debut novel, The Ship, is a coming-of-age dystopian thriller which delves into the complexities of tyranny, community and love.

Once the earth succumbs to environmental destruction, it’s not long before societies break down and chaos has to be navigated for survival. The dystopian setting presents an ideal setting for mother of four Honeywell to explore parent and child relationships. How do you protect your loved ones while making them appreciate your sacrifices.

The Ship is an exquisitely written exploration of what it means to grow up and become your own person. In a setting where freedom and survival are mutually exclusive, the love we give sometimes has to be enough to let children make the right choices.
