Mick Herron is the latest literary star to appear in Bristol with Gloucester Road Books
Mick Herron is the multi-award-winning and Sunday Times bestselling author of the Slough House thriller series – adapted into the hit Apple TV show Slow Horses, with a stellar cast featuring Gary Oldman, Kristin Scott Thomas and Jonathan Pryce.
In the latest of an impressive string of forthcoming literary events to be announced by Gloucester Road Books that includes Kieran Yates and Zadie Smith, Herron will be visiting the city at the end of the summer.
On September 6, he will be at Bristol Central Library to discuss his new novel The Secret Hours, in conversation with local novelist Charlotte Philby (author of books including Edith and Kim, The Second Woman and A Double Life).

The novel, which is pitched as a standalone spy thriller with a disastrous M15 mission in Cold War Berlin at its heart, is published by Bristol-based imprint, Baskerville.
It has met with widespread critical acclaim and praise from fellow authors, from Paula Hawkins and Michael Connelly to Mark Billingham, Lee Child and Val McDermid, who has dubbed Herron “the John le Carré of our generation”.
