Saul Williams To Headline Summer Slam

By Joe Melia  Wednesday Jul 12, 2017

Legendary poet, rapper, singer, and writer, Saul Williams, will be headlining Bam!Bam!Bam!’s Spoken Word Summer Slam at The Fleece later this month. He is in the UK as part of a world tour in support of his latest album, MartyrLoserKing. Also on the bill are some of the most exciting spoken word artists from across the UK including Milk Poetry founder and host Malaika Kegode, former National Slam champion Solomon O.B, BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Words First finalist Isaiah Hull, and Joshua Luke Smith whose debut EP, Between The Saddle And The Ground, reached the top 10 of the UK and international iTunes charts.

Saul Williams has been breaking new ground ever since his debut album, Amethyst Rock Star, which was executive produced by Rick Rubin, announced his unique talent in 2001. He has performed in more than 30 countries and in venues including the White House, the Sydney Opera House, Lincoln Center, The Louvre, The Getty Center, Queen Elizabeth Hall, as well as countless villages, townships, community centres, and prisons across the world. He has recorded with numerous other artists and musicians including Nine Inch Nails and Allen Ginsburg, and made countless film and television appearances.

For those who missed Williams’ brilliant performance at last year’s 6 Music Festival, this is a wonderful opportunity to see one of the world’s most sought after spoken word artists.
