Stanfords set to reopen their Bristol bookshop
One of the few remaining bookshops in Bristol has announced that it is reopening for the first time since lockdown.
Stanfords on Corn Street is the only branch of the famous bookshop outside London and is well known for its map of Bristol at 1:5,000 scale, covering the entire staircase wall from the ground floor to the basement.
It was opened in 1997 by travel writer Eric Newby, becoming the second Stanfords to open since its first store in thr capital in 1853.

Stanfords’ Bristol bookshop will be reopening on Tuesday, August 11 and will be open from 10am to 4pm from Tuesday to Saturday.
