Bristol’s own non-binary star Travis Alabanza has revealed more details of their upcoming literary debut.
Since announcing late last year that they had written a book about their experience of life as a non-binary person, fans of Travis’s work have been waiting patiently for more details- and now, more have arrived, just in time for Transgender Day Of Visibility.
Before jetting off to the US to hang out with fellow non-binary legends Johnathan Van Ness and Alok Vaid-Menon, Travis revealed the cover for their new book None Of The Above, and shared their thoughts on the upcoming release.

On Instagram, Travis said “I wanted to write this book because I wanted to continue to archive what it means to be gender non conforming in the UK whilst not white and not posh, yet the book became something so much more to me.”
The book is available for pre-order now and will be released on August 4.n and raised in Bristol, Travis has been creating art since the age of 16, and is one of the UK’s most prominent non-binary creatives. Best known for their theatrical works Burgerz and Overflow, Travis explores the complexities of life as a Black, non-binary, working class person with wit and eloquence.
While their work has received massive critical acclaim over the years, Travis notes that they are still somewhat nervous about putting this new work out into the world.
“I’m so scared for people to read my thoughts about living in-between, and through the lines, and the questions I was asking of myself last year” they remarked in an Instagram post, adding “but I also know I’m already proud these words exist.”
