Trio of authors discuss publishing journey
Three authors are presenting Into Print, a night about publishing, at the Bristol Central Library on April 23. Fergus McNeil, whose third Bristol-based D.I.Harland novel, “Cut Out”, has just been released by UK publisher Hodder, leads the panel and presents the voice of the traditionally published novelist.
McNeill will be joined by Philip Purser-Haggard, previously a small press writer now emerging into the mainstream with contemporary political thriller “The Pendragon Protocol”, and Bristol-based researcher Lucienne Boyce, who chose to self-publish “To the Fair Land”, her historical novel set in the 18th Century.
Into Print is this year’s event by Bristol Libraries celebrating World Book Night. Daniella Radice, Assistant Mayor for Neighbourhoods, with responsibility for libraries, said: “People who responded to the first phase of the Bristol Libraries for the Future consultation indicated that they would like to see increased cultural activities in libraries, and this is a fantastic example of the kind of events our libraries team run.”
is needed now More than ever
This event is for readers and writers alike. “Into Print” sees a trio of authors read from their work, take part in a panel discussion to explore their own experiences, and answer questions from the audience.
“Into Print” takes place at Bristol Central Library, on Thursday April 23, 7:30pm.
All three writers’ books will be available for sale and signing on the night. Tickets cost just £2.50 and are available in advance from any Bristol Library.
