Vegan activist and author Ed Winters explains how to argue with a meat eater

By Sarski Anderson  Tuesday Jan 9, 2024

Better known as Earthling Ed – and vegan Jesus to his followers – Ed Winters is a prominent vegan activist, author, educator and speaker, with over 50 million views on YouTube and an online following of 1 million.

In recent years he has spoken at over a third of UK universities and six Ivy League colleges, been made a fellow at Harvard University, and made multiple UK TV appearances to discuss veganism.

His debut book This Is Vegan Propaganda (And Other Lies the Meat Industry Tells You) was published by Penguin Random House in 2022, becoming an immediate best-seller.

His follow up How To Argue With a Meat Eater (And Win Every Time) is out now, and Winters will be introducing the book to Bristol audiences on January 26, at Waterstones, The Galleries during a UK book tour.

Aiming to provide readers with sound critical thinking skills and the knowledge to better equip them in conversation with staunch carnivores, he hopes the book “will arm you with powerful facts and insights that will give pause to even the most devout meat eater”.

“If you are a vegan,” he says, “you’ll know all too well how provocative it can be – you never know when you’ll be challenged or how.

“But being able to face down and rebut arguments against veganism is hugely important. Not just because many of the arguments lack substance, but because every interaction provides a pivotal moment to create change.”

An Evening with Ed Winters is at Waterstones, The Galleries on January 26 at 7pm. Tickets are available from www.waterstones.com.
