Waterstones reveal more details about new Clifton shop
Waterstones’ new bookshop in Clifton Village promises to host a lively events programme which will include reading groups, book launches and children’s activities.
Waterstones Clifton, located in a Grade II listed former bank on Regent Street, will open on Wednesday, March 28 with the promise of cake, joining the chain’s other Bristol branches in the Galleries and Cribbs Causeway.
The shop will stock more than 8,000 titles across fiction, non-fiction and children’s books and aims to champion local books and authors.
is needed now More than ever
Manager Jamie Lock said: “We are very happy and excited to bring a bookshop into the tight Clifton Village retail community and hope to be an integral part of its residents’ life.
“Waterstones Clifton will be a lively place for literary discussions, children’s activities and entertainment, and we cannot wait to welcome our customers into this beautiful building.”
Events manager Edouard Gallais added: “We’ve been looking at opening a branch in Clifton for the past few years, as we wanted to bring our large book offer to that part of Bristol. We also wanted a strong children’s section to cater for the young families in the area.”
The shop will be running family-friendly activities to celebrate their Easter opening including story times, miniature hot air balloon crafting, an Easter egg hunt in the shop and face painting on Easter Saturday.
