Open call for circus and theatre talent
For over two decades, from their home in Bristol, the Invisible Circus has been producing internationally recognised circus productions.
Now spread between the company, the creation space Unit 15 and their sister arts venue the Loco Klub, the Invisible Circus is once more opening up their sites for their community project, Launch Pad.
Running twice annually, the initiative aims to provide opportunities for creatives to create and develop new work through a 28 day residency at Unit 15, with support, expertise and promotion from The Invisible Circus.

This year, The Loco Klub are involved in the programme for the first time, and will host theatre-based work.
Round 1 applications are now open for theatre and circus makers to pitch their ideas, with the second round to follow in June. The organisers are hoping that Launch Pad ’22 will be the most diverse yet.
Selection criteria:
- Originality of idea
- Realism of proposal
- Potential for ongoing development
- Previous accomplishments
- Inclusivity and accessibility
- Evident consideration of the planned process
Successful applicants will be expected either to show their work, take part in a discussion or workshop with other artists, or provide mentoring to a young artist.
In this way, the Launch Pad programme intends to hand expertise down and inspire the next generation of circus and theatre professionals in Bristol, breaking down barriers to entry in the creative arts.
