Andy C soundtracks NYE 2021
Yes, you did read that correctly: Andy C is playing Lakota this NYE.
Lakota, Alternate, Lost Horizon and Wide Eyes are teaming up to provide a massive New Year’s Eve party that promises to make up for lost raving time during the last two years. Bristol’s scene is no stranger to dance music having been dubbed “the heart of drum and bass” (MC DRS, 2021) and offers an array of events across different venues.
However, no one has managed to book the esteemed Andy C, owner of RAM records, to play in the illustrious Lakota over for 20 years!
is needed now More than ever
Andy C and Tonn Piper will be playing over the midnight set at Lakota, in what promises to be the one of the most hyped NYE events in the UK. Andy is very much an international touring DJ, so most fans are used to seeing him perform at the UK’s largest venues and festivals. As such, this performance represents a very rare and special occasion.
Featuring alongside Andy is a huge array of talent, including another pillar of the scene with masterful skills and production prowess: DJ Zinc. Performing alongside DJ Zinc will be Bristol’s MC Jakes; together, they will perform a ‘Trust Me, I Was There Set’ which will include plenty of classics from across the years in various genres, including Jungle, UK Garage and Acid House.

Harriet Jaxxon of Rinse FM and Georgia Riot represent the rising female talents of the scene over the past years with top-notch selection and mixing, demonstrating a sound knowledge beyond their respective years.
Additionally, Bristol-based singer and scene veteran vocalist Collette Warren will be performing a live set with her band Collette the Dots. Fresh from her recent album with Riya – Two Sides of Everything, punters will be in for a treat with some dynamic live music, showing just how diverse and talented the current D&B scene is currently.
Similarly, another top Bristol-based singer that has taken the scene by storm with her chocolate-smooth vocals and dynamic singing range is Charli Brix (SWU FM, Critical, Flexout Audio). Her performance promises yet another audible treat for attendees.

Special guests Watch The Ride will give us those classic broken beats for some variation in tempo with a few surprises along the way. Comprised of scene and local legends DJ Die, Randall and Dismantle, these stalwarts of the scene have proven themselves countless times to be some the tightest mixers and proven selections across Jungle/D&B. Expect rapid fire beats and weighty dubs.
Many more DJs will be playing across the venues, with the full spectrum of D&B and old school represented. You won’t want to miss out on this event that is set to become a key piece of Bristol’s famous rave history.
Andy C is at Lakota, 6 Upper York St, Saint Paul’s, Bristol, BS2 8QN on December 31, from 8pm-5am (last entry 10pm). Tickets can be purchased on www.eventbrite.co.uk.
