Lost Horizon launches outdoor bar and creative space
Lost Horizon has made a name for itself since it first opened in St Jude’s last summer.
The team behind Glastonbury’s Shangri-La launched the venue as a creative space hosting gigs, discussion panels, art shows, club nights and more.
Their latest venture takes this further as they prepare to open the doors to a newly transformed outside area, aptly dubbed the Courtyard – a 225 capacity outdoor space featuring music from emerging Bristol-based record labels, bespoke cocktails, street food vendors, VR activities and more.
is needed now More than ever
Through a series of specially curated events beginning in April, the Courtyard promises to be an inclusive creative space within the Lost Horizon HQ, combining art, music, food and drink throughout the week.

The Courtyard, also known as the ‘creative den’, will boast a host of activities, drinks and food for all audiences, welcoming the likes of infamous Junior Jungle for family dance offs, ShangrilART markets featuring Bristol artists including Inkie, Kuldesac, and Britta Glass, as well as a monthly Stussy deadstock sale with food, cocktails and Bristol’s finest disk jockeys.
The space will also spotlight emerging and renowned record labels such as Ibiza’s Back to Mine and Shall Not Fade – Bristol’s newest record store, who will be bringing day parties showcasing cutting edge house, garage and bass. On the other end of the spectrum, high profile folk and acoustic acts will grace the space with dreamy vocals and gritty guitar solos.
Rock ‘n’ Roll bingo, Ballad’Okie and weekly comedy events, from the likes of Chuckle Busters and C U Next Wednesday will also slot into the regular event routine.

Highlights from the programme include Dennis Bovell: A Lovers Rock Special in partnership with Soho Radio on Saturday, April 9, and the Black Gold Vinyl fair on Saturday, April 23 to celebrate Record Store Day.
Alongside a host of musical talent, punters will be able to enjoy an extensive cocktail menu and a selection of local brews from Arbor Ales, as well as an extensive selection of worldly cuisine from renowned street-food vendors.
Expect slow cooked and locally sourced produce from Big Nathan’s BBQ, fresh rice bowls by Loki Poke, wood fired pizza from Slice One, Caribbean Tex Mex fusion from Tubby’s Corner and organic recipes by Good For Bellie, plus a whole host of other vendors to be announced.
The space will be open from 5pm-11pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and from 12pm to 11pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
