Alex Kealy concludes his UK tour of ‘Winner Takes All’ in Bristol

By Sarski Anderson  Monday Mar 20, 2023

Stand-up Alex Kealy is known for his cerebral mix of political and observational material, the kind of self-deprecation so often interwoven through the fabric of comedy, and an undeniably stonking punchline rate.

The self-styled “conflict-averse satirist” has been winning over fans from his arrival on the comedy scene, in which he reached the final of the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny? competition.

A regular writer on shows including Mock The Week (BBC Two), The News Quiz and The Now Show (BBC Radio 4), he is also a regular guest co-host of political comedy podcast Trashfuture, and has newly launched the musical anecdote podcast Gig Pigs, along with his friend and fellow comic, Ivo Graham.

To date, Kealy has taken five separate hour-long shows up to the Edinburgh Fringe, most recently the sell-out run of Winner Takes All, with which he is now touring the UK.

The show explores the monopolising impacts of big tech, “because it’s the big political tussle of the 21st century and, crucially, not because he recently had a break-up and his ex works at Google”.

His final date on the tour will be in Bristol on April 27, at The Alma Tavern & Theatre.
