Australian sketch comedy phenomenon Aunty Donna to visit the south west

By Sarski Anderson  Wednesday Apr 26, 2023

Mark Samual Bonanno, Broden Kelly and Zachary Ruane are better known as the internationally famous Australian sketch trio, Aunty Donna.

First appearing on the Melbourne comedy scene in 2012 and since playing multiple Edinburgh Fringe Festivals with their unique style of fast-paced, alternative, and often surreal sketch, they quickly won over comedy audiences wherever they played.

But in 2020, when their show Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun was given worldwide release on Netflix, they were catapaulted onto the world stage, amassing well over 100 million views on YouTube and suddenly counting Neil Patrick Harris and Ru Paul among their fans.

In September, the group will be taking The Magical Dead Cat Tour to the UK and Ireland for the first time, playing six dates within a two-week period. They will visit The Forum, Bath on September 19.

The show promises to include “funny voices, incredible costumes, silly songs”, and quite possibly, a “web slinging, mystery guest”.

Aunty Donna: The Magical Dead Cat Tour (age recommendation 15+) is at Bath Forum on September 19 at 8pm. For ticket availability, visit www.bathboxoffice.org.uk.
