Belly Laughs 2023 tickets go on sale

By Sarski Anderson  Monday Nov 28, 2022

Tickets for Belly Laughs 2023 in Bristol will go on sale first thing on Tuesday, November 29 via their ticketing partner, Yuup, who will not be taking commission on sales.

These multiple stand-up comedy and food festival fundraising events, initiated by comedian and proud Bristolian Mark Olver, are now in their 5th year in Bristol, and for the first time in 2022 are expanding to Bath and Birmingham too (for which tickets are already on sale).

Since its foundation, the venture has raised over £100k for local and grassroots charities and put an estimated £120k into local hospitality. In 2022, with three cities involved, the now three-person team is running over 100 gigs, and is expected to raise a huge amount for good causes.

The Bristol gigs will take place at independent venues across Bedminster, Wapping Wharf and the city centre during January, giving the local economy a welcome boost and supporting charities at a particularly tough time of year.

This year’s principal charity partner is Caring in Bristol, an organisation working to support and empower homeless and vulnerable people in the city.

Increasingly, given Bristol’s housing situation and the cost of living crisis, they are having to support higher numbers of people from becoming homeless, as well as marginalised people who fall through the gaps of other support services.

Belly Laughs will also be raising money in Bristol for the Julian Trust, and FareShare South West.

Ticket prices for 2022 start from £5, and include food and/or drink in the ticket price as well as a night of comedy from local and national stand-up talent.

Previous years have thrown up a healthy smattering of famous names in intimate pop-up venues, too – and Olver is confident that he has lots of surprises up his sleeve for the upcoming event.

“We’re really excited to have our January gigs running across three cities in 2023, with an amazing range of comedians, and I know that this year will be fantastic and bigger than ever before!

“I’m slightly nervous but in the usual chaos of Belly Laughs I know we’ll pull it off.”
