Riproar welcomes Britain’s Got Talent star Jonny Awsum this weekend

By Bristol24/7  Friday May 5, 2017

This Saturday’s lineup at Riproar Comedy in town features a set from Jonny Awsum, whose recent performance on Britain’s Got Talent got universal approval from the judges and made him something of a YouTube star.

Awsum’s performed his feelgood brand of musical comedy around the world: his most recent Edinburgh Festival Fringe show Everything is Awsum enjoyed audience acclaim and five-star reviews. He’s since appeared on BBC Radio 2’s The Arts Show, featured as a guest-presenter on Absolute Radio, recorded his first album – and was broadcast to huge acclaim alongside Ant and Dec on the nation’s biggest-rating ITV show, Britain’s Got Talent.

The weekend’s lineup at Riproar also features Tom Glover, Mickey Sharma – and the hugely engaging Jarlath Regan, as seen on Tonight at the Palladium (ITV), Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC3) and The Apprentice: You’re Fired (ITV3).

Riproar’s David  Trew is thrilled to be welcoming Awsum this weekend.”As a comedy club owner and promoter, it’s fantastic to see your booking policy pay off, as we believe it has done with Jonny Awsum. To have what may well become ‘the next household name’ on your line up for a regular Saturday show at Riproar makes the work you and your team put in all seem worth it.

“To have Jonny get four yesses from the Britain’s Got Talent judges, for his performance in a show with viewer ratings in the several millions, will be a massive boost for his career, and huge kudos for us. He’s an extremely talented lad, and deserves nothing less.”

Jonny Awsum and others play Riproar Comedy on Saturday, May 20. For more info and to book tickets. visit www.riproarcomedy.co.uk
