Settings wanted to host a dancer in residence
Organisations across Bristol are being asked to register their interest to host a dancer in residence. It could be any kind of setting from a park to a museum, a library to a hospital.
The aim of Bristol Dance Futures is “helping build a city where every body has the opportunity to move and be moved by dance”, with their latest residency programme offering £8,000 for four different artists residencies.
“We want artists to have the opportunity to get to know how settings work and understand how they can connect with setting priorities, and for settings to understand the potential of dance and how to facilitate and support artists’ work,” said Bristol Dance Futures producer, Deborah Baddoo.

“By settings we are referring to examples such as an early years setting for nursery schools, a heritage setting for old buildings, an arts setting for galleries and theatres etc, health setting for hospitals and surgeries, outdoor settings for parks etc.”
The four successful projects can commence anytime from mid November 2020, with the £8,000 artists fee representing a 40- day residency to be completed by December 2021.
Funders and partners of the project are Trinity Centre, Theatre Bristol, Arts Council England, Bristol City Council, Creative Youth Network and Arnolfini
