Bath Festival announce this year’s programme of events

Every May we’ve been spoiled with the annual Bath Festival, if you’ve ever fancied venturing out of the city then now is your chance. Bath Festival is a 10-day celebration of music, comedy and literature and will feature a diverse programme of events for all the family to enjoy.

The festival will be hosting the likes of British novelist Ian McEwan who will be in conversation with broadcaster Simon Mayo, along with bestselling novelist Neil Gaiman who will be commemorating the works of sci-fi hero Ray Bradbury. Cult graphic designer Stanley Donwood is renowned for his work with Radiohead, he will be giving a talk about his creative career.

If that wasn’t enough already, Emily Eavis will be looking back at 50 years of Glastonbury Festival, ahead of this year’s mammoth festival. Providing comedic relief will be Adam Buxton.

The city will be filled with a dynamic range of music which will be hosted at various venues. Punk laureate Patti Smith will be at The Forum, while folk artist Chris Wood will be performing an intimate set at Walcot House. Bristol based jazz outfit Get The Blessing will be there to ensure your mind is blown at their intricate songs.

The finale weekend will be a massive 2-day music event on Bath Recreation ground which will feature McFly, Scouting for Girls, KT Tunstall, UB40, featuring Ali Campbell and Astro, Billy Ocean, Fun Lovin’ Criminals and Seth Lakeman.
