Shindig Festival announce full lineup
As we enter the Springtime, more and more festivals will be announcing their whooping lineups. Today we see Somerset’s most loved festival, Shindig, announce their full line-up for this year.
This year is the seventh instalment of the festival and they are pulling out all the stops, including its venue! The festival will be relocated to Dillington Estate in Somerset which is surrounded by the rolling hills and a 16th Century house and hotel.
Now for the juicy bit, headlining will be acid jazz legend, Roy Ayers. He pioneered the jazz and funk movement in the ‘70s and is bringing that feel good vibe to Shindig this year. With over 30 albums under his belt which includes his fierce solo material, the timelessness of Roy Ayers Ubiquity and his extensive list of collaborative work.
is needed now More than ever
‘90s jungle/drum and bass hero Goldie will also be performing his eclectic mix of hip hop, breakbeat and soul. Goldie has been a vital figure to the UK’s underground graffiti scene and I’m sure his performance will exude this charm.
Other names in the bill include, Ibibio Sound Machine, Huey Morgan, Warmduscher, Norman Jay MBE, Odyssey Jazzie B (DJ set), Nightmares on Wax and Phil Hartnoll to name a few. Also on the bill will be a few familiar Bristol names such as Binbag Wisdom, Dizraeli and Dutty Moonshine Big Band.
Festival co-founder Will Lardner, commented: “I’m so excited about 2020. It’s the most diverse line up we’ve ever seen. From gospel choirs to Shindig regulars and everything in between: pioneers, legends and luminaries, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to dance the weekend away in beautiful new surroundings.”
As always, fancy dress is encouraged and this year the theme is Mardi Grad. Get your feathers and beads at the ready!
Shindig will be held from May 21-24. For tickets and more information, visit https://shindigfestival.co.uk/
