The giant ape, croc and wolf (and their friend Mr. The Rock) had those bunnies for breakfast as Rampage finally deposed Peter Rabbit from the top of the chart. But Sony won’t be too displeased, since their purist-enraging Beatrix Potter adaptation has now overtaken the likes of Monsters, Inc and Finding Nemo. Classy, imaginative horror A Quiet Place, meanwhile, is benefiting from strong word of mouth as it holds steady in third place. The fact that this one is doing equally well at multiplexes and the Watershed underlines its crossover appeal. Blumhouse’s rather more generic Truth or Dare enjoyed a middling opening weekend at number five. Marvel’s Black Panther is finally beginning to fade after nine weeks on release and should slip out of the chart with £50m in the kitty just as Chadwick Boesman’s character pitches up again in Avengers: Infinity War next week.
