Harold Fry toddled inspirationally into third place at the weekend, just behind those deadites and Super Mario Bros. and ahead of Tamil-language historical drama sequel Ponniyin Selvan 2. It’s another big hit for Jim Broadbent, after the success of The Duke last year. The Super Mario Bros. Movie, meanwhile, is speeding towards a place in the UK all-time top 50. The 40th anniversary reissue of what we must now call Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi added another half-a-million quid to its tally. Outside the top 10, upmarket Disney-distributed indie Brit romcom Rye Lane has now reached £1.2m. This one has proven a particularly big hit in Bristol, where it is now in its seventh consecutive week at the Watershed.
