Chart copyright Comscore

It’s another chart-topper for the Harry Potter franchise as the third Fantastic Beasts flick sees off the Sonic the Hedgehog sequel after a week at the top. That said, The Secrets of Dumbledore opened significantly behind its predecessors despite opening on more screens that any previous film released by Mr. Warner and his brothers. Takings were around a third of those of the first film. Time will tell whether it picks up over the Easter holidays or falls victim to the cancelarmus spell cast by JK Rowling’s vociferous social media opponents. Further down the chart, family animation The Bad Guys leapfrogged Morbius, as the poorly received Marvel flick’s takings dropped by a whopping 70% in its second weekend on release. By contrast, The Batman is closing on £40m after six weeks.
