Barbie has now overtaken Avengers: Endgame to claim seventh place in the UK all-time chart. Next in its sights is the Bond flick, Spectre. But Oppenheimer continues to close the gap in the UK, having now claimed the global box office crown. New releases fared comparatively poorly, though Andre Rieu’s loyal audience trooped out for the event cinema screening of his annual Maastricht concert. Black slasher comedy The Blackening had to settle for ninth place. But this one proved more of a draw than Strays, which dropped out of the top ten altogether after opening in fifth place last week. Meg 2: The Trench, meanwhile, continues to perform swimmingly, leapfrogging Blue Beetle to retake third place.
