There’s very little movement on the chart this week, with all of the top six films unchanged. The family flicks continue to hold up most strongly in terms of takings, which is what you’d expect during the school holidays. Despite all that free publicity courtesy of Amanda Knox, Stillwater could only make seventh place as the highest new entry. The only other new release to chart was gloopy romance The Last Letter From Your Lover, which took a pretty feeble £274,322. The previous adaptation of a Jojo Moyes novel, Me Before You, bagged £1.8m over its opening weekend in 2016 – although circumstances were obviously very different back then. Just outside the top ten, Peter Rabbit 2 is edging closer to becoming the first film since the start of the pandemic to take £20m at the UK box office.
