After three weeks at the top, Frozen II was finally deposed by, er, another sequel. Jumanji: The Next Level’s £9.5m ‘opening weekend’ included four full days of previews. Nonetheless, when these are taken into account the sequel is still doing better than the first film. Disney’s Frozen II could also equal or eclipse the first Frozen‘s £43.1m haul if it continues to pull in the nippers over Christmas. But the second remake of Black Christmas isn’t doing as well as the first one back in 2006, suggesting that the studios will have to try harder to cash in on the lucrative festive sicko market in future. At the foot of the chart, old favourite Home Alone was this week’s Christmas reissue of choice among nostalgic punters.
