There’s absolutely no change in the top five this week as the industry awaits the arrival of that much-hyped first Avatar sequel. Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical added another £2m to its tally to reach £10m after three weeks, while Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is now up to £30m. As so often at this time of year, the lower reaches of the chart are packed with festive fare: four reissues and the event cinema screenings of the Royal Opera House’s latest production of The Nutcracker. Great to see the best Christmas family film of all time (The Muppet Christmas Carol, obviously) doing so well on its 30th anniversary.
