There were three new entries in this week’s top five, but none of them did well enough to depose Avatar: The Way of Water, which took another £2m at the weekend. Globally, Bollywood action epic Pathaan has overtaken the watery CGIfest, but in the UK it had to second for second place. Steven Spielberg’s much-hyped The Fabelmans (pictured), meanwhile, is at number four, behind the Gerard Butler thriller Plane. Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody is slipping down the chart now, but has reached the £10m mark, underlining the popularity of music biopics. Outside the top ten, Cornish director Mark Jenkin’s well-received folk horror Enys Men now has more than a quarter of a million quid in the kitty.
