Solo: A Star Wars Story enjoyed a second and final week at the top before being seen off by the rampaging raptors of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom next week. With ‘just’ £13.9m in the kitty, this second Star Wars anthology flick is now likely to fall well short of its predecessor Rogue One‘s £66m tally. The top four remained unchanged, with sole major new release Book Club failing to drum up a great deal of interest among its randy, wrinkly target audience. Bona fide summer hit Avengers: Infinity War clocked up another record as it dislodged Mamma Mia! to secure 10th place in the UK all-time top ten. Encouragingly, the limited reissue of Kubrick’s 2001 took an impressive £111,000. If you haven’t yet had a chance to catch this one up on the big screen where it belongs, you’ll be delighted to learn that local cinemas have added additional screenings next week.
