It was a quiet weekend at the box office, with overall takings significantly down as distributors opted to avoid big new releases that would face stiff competition from this week’s Tom Cruise hype juggernaut. Nonetheless, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness bagged another £5m in its third and final week at the top. Climbing to second place, the well received comedy-drama Everything Everywhere All At Once increased its takings by 23%, thanks to strong word of mouth. But there was very little movement elsewhere in the top ten, with Terence Davies’s Siegfried Sassoon biopic, Benediction, crawling in at the foot of the chart.
