Those petrolhead bores of Fast X were seen off after just one week at the top by half-term hit The Little Mermaid, whose £5m opening weekend is an excellent result by the standards of recent Disney live-action flicks. That said, the Just Waste Oil brigade are up to £10m after just two weeks, while in third place Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has sailed past the £30m mark after four weeks on release. The Super Mario Bros. Movie, meanwhile, has now secured a place in the UK all-time top 40. Ben Affleck vehicle Hypnotic flopped, as it did in the US, while Finnish drama Sisu is proving quite a hit on a limited number of screens on the arthouse circuit. And in case you’re wondering, Tomorrow X Together are the latest K-Pop act on a mission to relieve the nation’s little girls of their pocket money.
