With little competition, Hunger Games prequel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes topped the chart, though its opening weekend gross was significantly behind those of previous films in the franchise. Bollywood action-thriller Tiger 3 was the second-highest new entry in third place, followed by country house toff thriller Saltburn and Eli Roth’s latest slasher, Thanksgiving. Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon continues to do a roaring trade and is likely to wind up as his sixth biggest film at the UK box office, just behind Cape Fear.
