Chart copyright Comscore

Taylor Swift (a popular entertainer, m’lud) crushed those Paw Patrol pups as her Eras Tour concert film swept to the top of the chart, taking £5.7m to become the UK’s biggest ever event cinema release. Take that BTS and, er, Take That. Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie stood little chance, despite two weekends of previews, as small children were (metaphorically) swept aside by hordes of stampeding Swifties. Two other new releases made the chart: Adam Deacon’s Sumotherhood did fairly well to claim fourth place, while sentimental Oirish comedy-drama The Miracle Club performed rather poorly at number nine. Disney’s Frozen, meanwhile, got a head-start on Christmas by sneaking back in at the foot of the chart.
