Blade Runner 2049 regained the top spot from The LEGO Ninjago Movie and confidently held off the challenge from six new releases in this week’s top ten. Disastrous reviews didn’t stop disaster movie Geostorm grabbing second place, while the latest Blumhouse horror, Happy Death Day, is poised to clean up over Halloween. But the big success story is Armando Ianucci’s The Death of Stalin, which scored the highest screen average (a whopping £7,210) of all films on release. The Snowman melted in the heat of this competition, tumbling to eighth place. Outside the chart, the Beeb’s Earth: One Amazing Day took just £28,000 – though it was playing only a limited number of matinees.
