BP Big Screens returns for Summer 2019

High culture cheapskates rejoice: BP Big Screens is back. Sponsored by the multinational that gave us the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, this annual feast of top-notch opera and ballet beamed live from Covent Garden is part of the Royal Opera House’s mission to widen access to its programme.

Last year, a total of 41,500 punters pitched up to 40 screenings in 20 locations nationwide. For 2019, BP Big Screens returns to Millennium Square for three al fresco screenings: Romeo and Juliet (June 11), Carmen (July 2) and The Marriage of Figaro (July 9).
