Royal Opera House Encore: Romeo and Juliet
Kenneth MacMillan's celebrated ballet broadcast live from Covent Garden
High culture cheapskates rejoice: BP Big Screens is back. Sponsored by the multinational that gave us the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, this annual feast of top-notch opera and ballet beamed live from Covent Garden is part of the Royal Opera House’s mission to widen access to its programme.
Last year, a total of 41,500 punters pitched up to 40 screenings in 20 locations nationwide. For 2019, BP Big Screens returns to Millennium Square for three al fresco screenings: Romeo and Juliet (June 11), Carmen (July 2) and The Marriage of Figaro (July 9). The July screenings will be presented by Gok Wan. Follow the links below for further details of each event and screening times. Full conditions of entry can be found here.
