Bristol Film Festival unveils outdoor pop-up cinema blockbuster weekend in Clifton
Bristol Film Festival brings pop-up outdoor cinema to The Mall Gardens from July 28-30 in its inaugural Clifton Summer Screenings mini-festival. A total of 15 hit films will be screened, ranging from family favourites to more adult fare, with plenty of outdoor cinema perennials (Dirty Dancing, Mamma Mia!, Grease, etc). The programme includes Aardman’s very first and most commercially successful feature, Chicken Run, to which a Netflix sequel is on the way in December, and Edgar Wright’s Hot Fuzz, which was filmed in his home town of Wells.
The pop-up cinema has a covered seating area open on the sides to the gardens, a state-of-the-art LED screen and wireless headphones to deliver high-quality audio, which means that the fun can go on even if it pisses with rain. There’s also a licensed bar and VIP packages are available, including a private entrance, access to the hospitality pavilion, complimentary drinks and reserved seats.
