Don’t Go Gentle: A Film About IDLES
Raw, fan-made documentary about the furious Bristol rockers
Potential box office confusion alert! In the Heights and In the Earth are both released this week, offering very different cinematic experiences. Let’s hope no one eager for a feelgood musical finds themselves watching a psychedelic pandemic horror. And, of course, vice versa.
Don’t Go Gentle: A Film About IDLES arrives at the Watershed on Wednesday with a director’s Q&A as part of a national tour. Given the Bristol band’s popularity, it’s no surprise that this one has already sold out. But you can join the waiting list for returns.
Over at the Curzon, South West Silents bounces back into post-lockdown action with a screening of the new restoration of the world’s very first action flick: 1920’s The Mark of Zorro.
On the preview front, we have arthouse pisshead drama Another Round, the big screen makeover of kids’ telly staple Dogtanian and yet another frenzy of carbon emissions in Fast & Furious 9.
This week also brings a whole bunch of reissues, including Clueless, Moulin Rouge and a 4K restoration of Top Gun.
