Bristol’s week in film: May 21-27 2021

It’s the first full weekend back at the cinema and early indications are that family flick Peter Rabbit 2 will top the  post-lockdown box office chart. It’s certainly got the most screenings and on the first day of re-opening took twice as much loot as award-winning runner-up Nomadland.

In addition to all the films that opened on Monday, this week brings previews of the third Conjuring Flick, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, and the global box office phenomenon that is Demon Slayer: Mugen Train.

There’s also a brace of event cinema screenings: five hours of mud-free Glastonbury on Saturday and a profile of football manager Alex Ferguson by his son on Thursday.
