Bristol’s Week in Film: May 28-June 3 2021

Cinema bounced back more strongly than anyone dared hope over the first post-lockdown weekend, thanks mainly to Peter Rabbit 2. This week, Disney unleashes the Maleficent-esque Cruella, which should appeal to the same family audience. For adults, there’s also horror in the form of the third Conjuring flick, global anime phenomenon Demon Slayer: Mugen Train and three new releases down at the reactivated Watershed.

A Quiet Place Part II is next week’s big release, with previews on Bank Holiday Monday and Thursday. If you’re determined to see it first, the film is also showing at many cinemas as part of a double bill with the first one on Sunday.

Our first taste of post-lockdown outdoor cinema arrives this weekend at Old Down Country Park, courtesy of Adventure Cinema, who are screening audience favourites Bohemian Rhapsody and the singalong version of The Greatest Showman.
