“A cinematic movement is currently unfolding, spearheaded by a new generation of talented black and brown filmmakers and creatives,” says Cables & Cameras founder Gary Thompson. “These visionaries are weaving captivating narratives that delve into the unexplored experiences and rich culture of various UK regions, thereby connecting diverse voices in a profound way.
“The question arises: How can we establish strong alliances and partnerships with our regional creatives, and what valuable insights can we gain from one another? Let us embark on a journey to explore and discover specific solutions and tips that will enable us to collaborate effectively and further enhance the impact of this movement. By fostering an environment of mutual learning and support, we can elevate and celebrate the unique stories and perspectives that emerge from the regions across the UK.
“Through this collective effort, we can undoubtedly achieve a more inclusive and representative portrayal of our society and culture in are regions. Together, we can create a landscape that truly embraces the richness of our regional identities and amplifies the voices that have been waiting to be heard.”
