Co-star of worst film ever comes to Bristol
It’s Bristol Bad Film Club‘s biggest ever hit. Tommy Wiseau’s extraordinary The Room is renowned as the most appalling film ever made. And now the film’s co-star, Greg Sestero, is coming to Bristol to tell all about the making of this jaw-dropping disasterpiece, which has been described as the Citizen Kane of bad movies.
Thirteen years on, Sestero is the author of a widely-acclaimed memoir, The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room, which has just been published in the UK by Little, Brown. This in turn was recently adapted as a big screen comedy-drama entitled The Masterpiece, with brothers James and Dave Franco as Tommy and Greg. James Franco also directs, and the film’s A-list supporting cast includes Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, Bryan Cranston, Sharon Stone, Bob Odenkirk, Alison Brie, Zach Braff, Melanie Griffith, Josh Hutcherson and Jacki Weaver. Apparently, we can expect to see it sometime next year.

But before that, there’s a chance to hear from the real Greg Sestero at a special Bristol Bad Film Club multi-media event at the Bristol Bierkeller on Monday, 17 October. This includes a live reading from The Disaster Artist by Sistero himself, clips from The Disaster Artist documentary, a Q&A hosted by the Bristol Bad Film Club and – oh, yes! – a live reading of scenes from the original script for The Room. Tickets, price £8, are on sale now here. But hurry, they’re already selling very quickly.
