New detective series filmed in Bristol
The scenery in new Sky 1 detective series Agatha Raisin will look very familiar.
The drama shot several of its scenes in familiar Bristol locations such as the Cumberland Basin, Colston Hall and Ashton Court.
Agatha Raisin follows PR-guru-turned-amateur-detective Agatha (Ashley Jensen) as she tries to solve mysteries in the Cotswolds.

The series kept its production offices in Bristol, utilised unit bases facilitated by Bristol Film Office and used The Bottle Yard Studios in Hengrove for a green screen studio shoot.
Sky 1 aired the Agatha Raisin pilot as a Christmas special. The episode on Tuesday, June 7 at 9pm is the first in an eight-part series
“We were delighted to welcome back Mammoth Screen and Free@LastTV to Bristol for the first full series of Agatha Raisin following their pilot last year and to be able to assist them once again,” said Natalie Moore from Bristol Film Office.
“Location filming was largely done further afield, so it was an endorsement that they wanted to base themselves in Bristol and utilise our services as well as local crew.”
Stewart Harcourt (Love and Marriage) and Chris Murray (Midsomer Murders) write the light-hearted murder series based on the novels by MC Beaton. Matthew Horne of Gavin & Stacey and Katy Wix of Not Going Out fill out the supporting cast.
