Cinema reopens with a brand new screen
From Tuesday, Bristol will have a brand new cinema screen.
Okay, so it’s a tiddler, seating just 37 people for an “intimate screening experience”, but the Everyman chain promises this will be just as luxurious as the other three auditoria in its historic Whiteladies Road picture palace.

The Everyman’s trademark velvet sofas and armchairs
Those who don’t mind paying for what Everyman describes as an “elevated film experience” will find that the bijou screen benefits from the chain’s trademark plush velvet sofas and armchairs as well as at-seat food and drink service from an extensive menu that includes several vegan options.
is needed now More than ever
The cinema, which closed for refurbishment on May 16, reopens just in time to take advantage of the tail end of the first week of the summer box office bonanza that is Top Gun: Maverick which will be showing up to nine times each day.
But the smaller capacity of the fourth screen – taking up part of the Cowshed restaurant next door – means that the Everyman will now have greater flexibility in showing films of more limited appeal, which should lead to a wider selection
Good news for those who’ve had their fill of explosions and superheroes.
